Science at our school is based on a progressive build up of knowledge and skills, taught either discreetly or through our topics. 

Science knowledge starts in early years and progresses through KS1 and KS2. 

Where possible, we aim to link Science to our main topic themes, however some Science lessons are taught discretely. We place a key emphasis on developing key scientific vocabulary through use of Science 'Star Words' for each topic covered. 

We encourage the pupils to revisit their Science knowledge through our topics and also in our Science Themed Week. This year our Science Themed Week was based on the subject of 'Survival' and the children in KS2 had to apply their Science learning from across their time in KS2 to be a survivor!
