We continue to use our PE Funding to ensure all our children are engaged in physical activity and have access to a broad range of sports, clubs and competitive sports festivals and are able to swim 25m by the end of Year Six.
Please see below the impact evidence of this PE funding for 2018/19 and 2017/18.
The impact of PE funding for 2019/20 is summarised below as are our plans for 2021. We are in the process post COVID19 of looking at how we now focus our PE funding spending and we have prioritised the following for the academic year 2021/2022:
- Continued participation in inter schools events and continuing to ensure we are able to send two teams to events to increase participation levels.
- Contribute to providing more subsidised after school sports opportunities as part of our wrap around care offer
- Develop free lunchtime sports clubs to increase availability to children unable to attend after school events
- Support use of external providers to support children and staff with looking at how sport and activity can improve mental well being.
We are delighted that our Year Fives did take part in 12 weeks of swimming lessons in Summer Term 2021 and so caught up on the swimming lessons missed due to COVID19 and lockdown.
We also have managed to take part in inter school festivals and we did really well in KS2 Dance Extravaganza in Autumn 2020 and in the Cricket Festival in Summer Term 2021 and Year Six had access to a specialist Cricket Coach.
We also still had Sports Day and all children took part in this.
