about Emily...
I was appointed Foundation Governor by the Oxford Diocese so one of my roles is to ensure that High Ash’s Christian ethos is understood and promoted. I fully support the school’s vision and values and enjoy working with staff and Governors in ensuring that these are evident in all aspects of school life. I am also Health and Safety Governor, so my contribution includes ensuring that the school has effective health and safety provision that protects everyone.
As a mother of two children at the school and the wife of a teacher I have an obvious interest in education and the welfare of students but I have also found being a governor a highly rewarding experience. I hope to contribute in a meaningful way to the local community and make a positive impact for the next generation of students. I particularly enjoy my visits into school. They allow me an opportunity for monitoring the implementation of policies and strategies, and provide a chance to meet with staff and pupils, observe lessons and to hear the students’ views on their learning.
I grew up locally and moved to Great Brickhill in 2021. I have been a solicitor for over 16 years developing skills like attention to detail, risk management, problem-solving, resilience and integrity. Similar skills required in my role as a mother of two boys!
