Music at High Ash – A Joyful Part of School Life
At High Ash, music is so much more than a subject on the timetable – it’s a chance for our children to shine, express themselves, and discover the joy of performing. Our engaging and diverse curriculum ensures every child gets the chance to experience music in a way that is fun, memorable, and fully in line with the National Curriculum.
Whether it’s learning to play instruments together in class, singing their hearts out in assemblies, or taking part in school performances, our pupils are building confidence as well as musical skills. We love seeing how music brings children together, encouraging teamwork, creativity, and a real sense of pride.
As one of our pupils put it, “I love when we all play together because it feels like being in a real band!” Moments like these show how much joy music brings to our school community.
We also explore music from different times and places, helping children see just how powerful and universal it is. By the time they leave High Ash, pupils take with them not only knowledge and skills, but a lifelong love of music that will stay with them long after their primary years.
