Daily Reflection

Each daily Reflection is a “Time to…” (e.g. Time to Think, Time to Be, Time to Act) and plays a central role in our children’s moral, spiritual, and personal development.

Reflections are often led by our Reflection Leaders, giving children a voice in shaping worship and exploring “Big Questions” linked to our vision: “Let Your Light Shine” and “Grow Together, Shine Forever.” They include Bible stories, Christian values, PROUD principles, and Church festivals, while also respecting other faiths and world views.

Our Reflections are interactive and creative, using music, drama, art, prayer, and discussion. They happen in many spaces – classrooms, the hall, outdoors, church, and even online – and are designed to be inclusive and relevant to the issues children face today, from local concerns to global challenges.

We follow a weekly pattern:

  • Monday – Big Question (Time to Be)

  • Tuesday – Class Reflection (Time to Think)

  • Wednesday – Music Appreciation (Time to Sing)

  • Thursday – Sharing learning (Time to Share)

  • Friday – Celebration Assembly (Time to Shine)

Our clergy, staff, and governors support and review Reflections to ensure they inspire children to act with kindness, courage, and compassion.

Recent themes include #be bothered, which encouraged children to make an effort in everything they do, and our current focus is #no outsiders, helping children reflect on how they can include everyone and ensure everyone belongs.
