Safeguarding

Safeguarding is of paramount importance at our school and we comply with the statutory expectations of 'Keeping Children Safe in Education' (latest edition - see below). We also understand our responsibilities under PREVENT duty and all our staff have annual safeguarding training.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Kate Goodger, Deputy Headteacher.

The Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads are Mrs Naomi Roberts, School Counsellor and Pastoral Lead and Mrs Cate Bird, EYFS Leader

Our Safeguarding Governor is Kate Ruddick.

Our staff and regular volunteers have all the required safeguarding checks, and we have a secure and safe site.

Please also see our Child Protection Policy within the Policies section of our website.

As a school we work hard to promote a culture of safeguarding and to respond to our local context. This is reflected in our policies and processes as well as in our PHSE curriculum and in teaching children how to be safe online.  We also provide information evenings to parents about online safety.

If you would like more information on how to keep your child safe online please look at the NSPCC website or www.thinkuknow.co.uk as well as this link here which is provided to us by Hazard Alley in Milton Keynes.  https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1xScNRI2axv3SJeS3W7xZ74nZIkm8TFow?usp=sharing

Through our curriculum, including assemblies, we teach children to stay safe and happy.  We encourage the understanding that any problem or worry they may have is legitimate, and to share their worries, big or small, with a trusted adult; at home; at school or with an organisation like ChildLine.   Parents/carers can see below a copy of slides we plan to use in the next assembly on Monday 6th November 2023.
